A few years from now, we may look back at 2020 and recognize a watershed moment for education. With many schools and colleges facing increasing danger from changing demographics, we’re at a point where some of the business models underlying higher education are going to start to shift. The Indian higher education system has expanded at a fast pace by adding more than 20,000 colleges and more than 8 million students in a decade and as of today, India has more than 800 universities, with a break up of Central, State, Deemed and Private universities.
Globally, higher education has more to worry about than the immediate crisis of public health and budget shortfalls. The road to recovery lies through change and innovation.
Online education is slowly and surely becoming popular with interest from working professionals to learn new things, technology. More number of organizations like Byju are emerging to target online education.Higher education is also slowly adopting the digital era.

Evaluation of students is one of the key areas of academic curriculum. Success of education largely depends on the type of evaluation done. Evaluation of the students has largely been focused on analysis of theoretical knowledge of the student.Using an online assessment tool makes it much easier for you to collect all data from your students. These shifts are leading to a new outlook on how higher education must serve students in the future. Personalized learning is an educational approach that aims to customize learning for each student’s strengths, needs, skills, and interests. Each student gets a learning plan that’s based on what he knows and how he learns best.
Similar to it, education delivery or the learning process must be personalized. Traditional classroom-based lecture processes may not help each individual. Every individual has some strengths and weaknesses and the pace of understanding a particular topic is different for everyone.

Revolution in Exam Management through AI
AI can bring a lot of changes to current exam management. AI based proctoring or auto remote proctoring can enable institutions to conduct exams without any need of infrastructure or logistic.Remote Proctoring technology can enable students appearing for exams sitting at any location. System can track , monitor remote users using advanced video, image, audio streaming
with intelligence to do analysis if a student is appearing for the exam in a fair manner.
Currently this service has been successfully adopted and implemented by higher education institutes and universities for conducting entrance exams. It has helped them to remove infrastructure requirements and the huge administrative cost of managing such exams.
Ultimately, keeping track of these big-picture developments is key to navigating the future of teaching and learning.
